arid

Including the initial phase of experimentations and prototypes, Arid has been developed in 32 weeks. I was part of this team as a Technical and System Designer, as well as Quality Assurance. The game was marketed by us (the student team) and released on Steam with very positive reviews.

role & project details

  • Role: Technical & System Design, QA
  • Genre: First Person Open-World Survival
  • Team Size: 20+
  • Engine: Unreal Engine 4
  • Duration: 32 weeks

the problem

Arid had to teach players how to survive a harsh desert while keeping its systems understandable in a large open world. The student team also had to turn the prototype into a finished game within a 32 week production.

what i built

i worked across technical design, system design, and quality assurance. That meant defining and supporting the survival systems, testing how the mechanics worked together, and finding issues before the team released the game.
